I am having alot of trouble keeping starts in my mod. I have tryed stock ones, after market ones, and the tilto mini starters. the stock ones onlt last one or two nights, the after market ones maybe a month. this is on several differant motors as well. Any ideas????

is it burning them up, eating the bendix off them? How do you wash the car? If you are blasting the cr ap out of them with high pressure water gets inside and rust them up. Bendix wearing off is most likely an alignment issue.

Sounds like me until I got rid of the stupid welded advance dist, and went with a MSD billet dist with the advance and bushings, it made a world of diff. on starter wear...just wondering if you are using a similar setup?

what size is the battery cable running to the starter from the battery? If the battery cable is too small it will starve the starter of power, thus making it strain more to turn the engine over and burn them up prematurely. I had a problem with that a few years back because we got goofy and tried running 6 gauge battery cable in the car to save weight.
