CAN SOMEONE WALK ME THREW THE PROCEDURE FROM ADJUSTING IDLE SCREWS? IT IS A C&S CARB WITH IDLE JETS ON THE FRONT NONE ON THE BACK BARRELS. DO YOU SCREW THEM ALL THE WAY DOWN THEN BACK IT OFF ROUND AND A HALF ON EACH SIDE FOR A STARTING POINT?

THANKS

I was always told to run them in till the idle drops, back it up till the idle smooths out, then another half turn. One at a time of course. Hope that helps.

I would run start with them all about 1 turn out. Then turn them all 1/8 at a time in or out until you get the highest idle speed. I'd leave it there or turn them back in about 1/8 turn from that point. You might have to play with it a little to see which way to go in or out, but try to keep them all the same. 1/8 turn on all screws makes quite a difference so you have to take your time.

The proper way to adjust your air screws is to run them in or out and stop wherever the engine reaches it's highest idle rpm. Then, adjust idle to desired rpm. Some tuners might use their digital timing light with rpm display if they want to be real critical about watching the idle rpm increase while adjusting the air screws.
