In the past when I switched from a 355 to a 377, I ran the same gear on the same 1/4mile track.

You could prob go to 5.83, just because of the extra torque of the bigger engine. Thats if you are able to use more of the available torque. If you cant use it then you wont make a difference because you wont be able to hook it up and pull through the rpms anyway without spinning which gets you nowhere. In that case you'd be better off staying with what youve got.

I have a 5.43 and a 6.00 I will probably try the 6.00......the problem I am having is the folks that have the gear thing figured out localy will only get you about 20 points up or down from where they are running most racers I have one chance to guesse what the proper gear is as far as buying a new set....and then I am stuck with what I got......I hope the 6.00 doesnt spin it to tight....thanks for the advice ...JT54
