Locking the spring & shock to the axle tube.

When you put the spring in front the axle rotates and wraps up the spring, adding wedge.

BSB and others make birdcages to where you can run the spring and shock floated with the BC or take a couple bolts out and run it clamped to the tube, there nice.

If your leaving upper and lower links on it, you would be locking the shock and spring(my bridcages i can lock just the shock and spring, or can remove one of the bars and lock the entire cage).
if you were to lock the cage completely and then leave on the upper and lower would be a MAJOR BIND and you would probally tear up alot of parts. my cage can rotate till the rearend almost will touch the bottom link if i want it too, i dont forsee the driveshaft and u joints taking the abuse.
good luck
