I'm re-doing the suspension on the right side, and want to have the option of either 4 bar or z-link. I'd like to run a 14" bar on top and a 12" bar on bottom with 5/8" hiems. Ideally, when I switch between 4 bar or z-link, I'd like to just be able to flip the top bar over. I'm looking for some input on what problems/advantages, if any, I might expect to run into by running a longer top bar in the z-link configuration. I appreciate any input.

Thats the way my right rear is setup. I run 17.5 top links, with 15.5 bottom links. My mounts are the same distance in front and to the rear. I can switch from 4-bar to z-link by flipping the top bar back, and it works great. Most of the cars in my area have longer top bars than bottom on the right z-link. It just depends on what you want the steer and indexing to do. I like the z-link on the right if I need the car to be a little more free on corner entry.

This is also exactly how the Kraft Kars and I think the Skyrocket cars are. Even though this will be the first year Kelly has had 4 bar on both sides (at least capability on the rr)

Overall I'd say it works very well.

we had this configuration on our d-w 8 for a couple of years, with the exception of a 28 inch bar on the left side, going back to the back bumper almost. it was very fast in the corners, but we couldnt find the foreward bite comming off the corner(our own fault).
