any of you guys paint helments? any tips for a first timer?? i am looking at having a friend do it, or attempting it ourselves, we are experienced car painters so not new to the paint game. how hard is a simpson bandit to take apart? any other tips?

After doing it a few times, I'll never do it again ... decals are too easy to buy and stick and you can't tell the difference from 5' away.
Be very careful not to use any chemicals that compromise the strength of the helmet as well.

Had mine painted by Mark Gaither at G & R body shop. If you call him, I'd bet he would answer any questions you have. His shop number is 816-531-8078. Tell him Dave refered you.

I did mine myself. If it wasn't for 1 thing that I did wrong, it would have had a nice set of flames on it, but now it's just black. I didn't think it was all that hard, I rattle caned it and it looks fine.

i had mine done by ten-ten custom paint in vegas very nice job!

I used to do custom paint as a full time profession, and if you want any tips or tricks, I will be glad to help. Give me an idea what you are looking to do and I will tell you how, or I'll give you some simple effects you can do.
