What type of water pump do most of you run? There is a alluminum water pump on the car I just got but I do not know if it is stock or not. It does need to be replaced though because of some slack in the shaft. Thanks for the help.

On alky you can get by with some of the more inexpensive pumps, but on gas it seems like the Edelbrock race pumps or Stewart pumps are the way to go. The difference in flow is amazing.

I guess I've been lucky......I run gas and a cheap water pump from O'reilly's. LOL!

I learned my lesson with the "cheap" water pumps. I skimped and bought one from Advance. Lifetime gaurantee, thought I was doing well. First night out, it came apart and took out a brand new radiator, shroud, fan, spacer, pulleys, belts, you get the picture. That $35 I saved on the water pump cost me around $500 by the time it was all said and done.

Ok let me rephrase that, I guess I'm REALLY LUCKY LOL! Because that water pump has been raced for the past 4 years on about 3 or 4 different engines! But the way stuff is going lately it'll probably tear up this year!
