Is there a way to tell if our Chevelle chassis is a 64-67, or a 68-72 just by looking at it? I asked Dirtworks, & all they said was to "measure the draglink center to center". They didn't provide the measurements though, so I don't know what measurement I'm looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

I think most of the 64-67's will have straight front frame horns and a little square hole on the ouside onthe left horn.68-72 frame will widen out as it gets to your bumper mount.

Well that's what I thought too. Our old DW-7 had the wider front horns & the front bumper bolted on the sides of the horns. The DW-8 that we have now has the straight horns, with the bumper bolted right to the front of them. But here's the thing. We put the draglink from the DW-7 on the DW-8, & everything looks like it fits. I didn't know the two chassis took different draglinks until I saw them listed on the DW parts list.

I think it's like an 1 1/2 different from the early to the 68-72. I know u will tell right away looking at the drag link and pitman arm. If i was home i'd be able to tell u more cuz my 8 has the 68-72 and the 9's a 64-67. pm me if u have any other ???

Your idler arm and pitman arm are probably both turned out a little bit if you have the wider drag link on the narrow frame

you might have a montecarlo frame. they are the same width as the 68-72 frames except i believe they have strait frame horns. we have a DW8 on a monte chassis.

Dustejr73, Is that a possibility? I didn't know DW used monte carlo frames. WE looked at the draglink & the pitman arm again last night, & they look perfectly parallel. If I send DW the serial tag #, I'll bet they would be able to tell me which one I have.

Just call Andy @ dirt Works and give him the serial # and he should be able to tell ya something about it. Let us know what ya come up with.
