What are you guys using for Fire Saftey on your cars? any pics? I want to make one for mine, dont feel like spending a bunch of money on a system from somebody, so looking at getting a bottle, and making it hook up to some tubing, nozzels, and some sort of trigger device, just woundering if you guys had some pics of yours, or some websites with good pics.
thanks
jason

I just have an everyday extinguisher in mine. But I would think you could put a remote valve on the bottle then run tubing from it to wherever you wanted. I know that most nitrous companies make remote valves that are operated with a 12V switch. Don't know if that would work but you might check into that. From what I remember they were kinda pricey!

Zero,
First, Spend the $300.00 on a fire bottle, hopefully it will be the best $300.00 you never have to use.
However, if you really want to make something yourself, before you start making your system, find out if you can get a bottle filled. and how much it costs.

If you can get the bottle filled I don't see how it would be a problem making your own. I mean that Fire Bottle someone like us invented. So whats the difference.

speedy the fire system is supposed to keep you the driver from being burnt, not put out any fire!!!!

I have a 10lb system, with 3 nozzles, one down by my feet, one behind my seat and one pointing at the cell from the cockpit.

my system was 550. from summitt.

you can use a standard extiguisher and make your own and even use a pull cable to activate it but it wont be the same. Ive looked at a couple people have made and if they release the cable it stops spraying.. something I pointed out and they never thought of.

a real system is pulled or pushed then releases until empty. most are set up for two nozles and will spray for 10 plus seconds. you can put extra nozles on those also but it will lower the amount of time it will shoot obviously.

I run 3 port nozzles pointed at me and a 2 port in the cell. I want all possible spraying in my direction.

I use steel lines, they are harder to bend etc than the alum but I used alum in a car a couple years ago and wondered if it could fatigue and break since the lines arent attatched super well.

My system cost less than 4 tires and wheels and will out last tires and wheels.
