what are your guys thoughts on these? are they totally outdated yet? i found a race ready car for a price that is hard to pass on. can i learn anything by beginning with a leaf spring car? idealy i was looking for a 3-link and am still keeping my options open!

I switched from a 3-link to a leaf spring and got faster. I am happy with the leafs.

Leaf springs just simplify a set-up. If there is no bars to adjust then you can't possibly over adjust yourself out of a race. So you can pay more attention to other area's on the car for handling. They (because of this) have their advantages. I would perfer a three bar car myself, but if you never have raced much before or not at all before then a leaf car would be a good starter car. In my opinion.

if it's cheap enough then it wouldn't take to much to switch it over to a 3 link in the future if you didn't like it i'd go for it and give it a try
