Whats the minimum someone can get away with? From the pan to the ground.

If you are running dirt I would keep the bottom of the pan flush with the bottom of the cross-member.If you dont you can have a real problem when you get into ruts or run off the top (or bottom in some cases) of the track and drag the burm. If you run cheap pans it is real critical. Some guys run a skid plate but it is beneficial to have the engine higher in the chassis for dirt.It raises your CG and helps weight tranfer for side bite purposes.Good Luck!

I did some research. The pan I got is a stock car pan not a modified pan. The modified pan is one inch shallower
