We use 10/40 motor oil Lots of drivers use the 20/50 that they use in the engine. My Brinn has 4 seasons on it I change the oil every other week when I change engine oil. Has never needed disc. I think this season it will need new disc. 2 nights a week racing. No problems.

I'm assuming the same goes for the falcon, right?

I only ask because this is the first time I heard anything about using motor oil for the fluid. We use 20w50 valvoline racing, that would be nice to just use the same stuff.

The Falcon uses Type F transmission fluid. I change it about every 4 races, 2 yrs. Thought I would freshen it up, the clutches thincknes was almost the same as the new clutches.

After reading this post I wonder if I've been wrong on my tranny fluid. I've got an Ernie Glide tranny (I refer to as a P.O.S.) and use 90weight gear oil. It has an external mini clutch, but should I be using a lighter weight oil for this tranny? Am I doing any dammage with the 90weight?
