You can get simpsons or bell for under 300 as well as others at pitstopusa.com and they have free shipping on alot of their stuff. No matter if you are using it for racing make sure it has a SA rating and not an M rating.

I am not sure about their helmets but I had a pair of pyrotect race shoes and they didn't last 4 nights.

helment saftey is no place to cut coners do a little reserch you will find some pretty wild stuff. i will tell you some things i have found. you would not give me a simpson helment after they bought the company from Bill simson they moved from Indy to Texas right accross the boader from mexico where all their products are made. i myself dont want a guy making a dollar or two an hour building my helment. impact is owned by bill simpson now lets think about this for a second, why would you sell a safty equipment company just to start another one? well its easy if you can sell your company for 22 mill and buy hitech helments (made in china to see one go to any kmart)for 1.1 mill and use your name (impact by bill simpson) to re start hitech as impact now heres the kicker ....but impact is made in the usa the box says so. thats right they are made in the usa all the parts to make them comes from the old hitech factory in china they just put it together here to call them "made" in the usa. bell most their helments are made or built in the usa but some are made in itly all of g-force helment are made and built in usa their firesuits are made in canada. the UofNC did a study on helment saftey Arai pass the most test gforce was second bell was third do not remember where impact finshed (there was like 15 mgf being tested) but i do remember simpson was close to the bottom like 12th or 13th so dont go by a name or what someone says on a internet site do your own reserch. then buy.

your post doesn't even deserve a response... shows how uninformed people are... if what you said is true then i guess all of the NASCAR boys need to get switchin to G-Force. NOT

I have to agree with truthtalker2, You have understand the differance between fact and foe. Most people think if it cost more or has been around for a long time or if nas**** is useing it well then its gotta be the best (WRONG) Testing is the only solid piece of info you have and G-force was near the top!!! Just because its a fairly new product doesn't mean it's not better.

OK, 2 very quick points:

1. Nascar teams spend huge dollars on R & D, and that includes the best possible driver safety to protect their million dollar driver investments. It's ignorant to believe anyone in the elite division would use an inferior helmet just because it was, so called "given to them".

2. I would be very interested in getting a copy of the comparison specifications which have been mentioned. Until facts can be confirmed, I have to take this as heresay. In my opinion, I like the Bell helmets, and would never buy a G-Force. JMO

Cmon guys, this isn't 4m or Whowon, we gotta play nice, lol.

if it is snell approved then it meets the same requirements no matter if it is a simpson, impact, bell, g-force, or any other brand name. The fact is its still snell approved.

although, i'd never use one

i only got a couple remarks. first i have a simpon bandit 8 helmet that was made when bill simpson was still with simspon. i thought about getting a new simpson voyager this year but i tried one on and it just didnt feel of the same quality...as far as the why would bill sell his own company i was under the impression it was over the whole Dale Sr. accident? tired of all the bs from it..

I would buy a carbon fiber Sparco helmet if I could afford one! No sense in chincing on safety gear.

Personally I run a Simpson Bandit helmet. I like it. I don't know about the TEST results but I don't think Nascar drivers would wear a helmet "given to them" if it wasn't good. I mean those guys are millionaires what is it gonna hurt them to spend $1,000.00 on a helmet if they had too?

Like SD said this is not 4M so lets not start name calling. Thats why I don't use 4M anymore.

Also I thought I was told once that G-Force was made by Bell??? Of course I'm probably wrong but thats what I heard.
