I need to know the weight difference between a pinto spindle, & a metric spindle. Also the total weight difference between the the two with stock rotors.
Here's the reason: Our current b-mod rules state that we must run an extra 25lbs. in front of the mid plate if we run pinto spindles due to the weight advantage. The last few years, we have run 68-72 chevelle spindles, (bend easily & hard to find),on our DW-8 to avoid the 25lb penalty, but would like to change to pinto. We think this rule is a bunch of **** & are trying to get it removed. Currently we are the only team at our track running a car that comes out with pinto spindles on it, & would like to be able to run what it originaly came out with.
If anybody on here has both types of spindles & rotors & could weigh them for me, I would truely appreciate it. If there is that much of a weight difference, I will accept the rule, but if there isn't, then I'm gonna fight like heck to get it changed.

Awkwardjeff, Thanks for the PM. It's guys like you that keep me coming back to this forum.
BTW, Speedway motors is only 35 miles from where I live, so getting those parts will be convenient if I can get the rule changed. Have a great 2005 season.

Have you checked a 85 S-10 spindal i have heard that this spindal is a match to the pinto the only differc is the S-10 steering arm is lower that i would think would be better i also run a dw .Maybe someone here can give us some info

All s10 spindles I have seen so far have been the same as small metric cars.

I'm not looking for the lightest pinto/hub setup, or a substitute for the pinto spindle. All I needed was the weight difference between a pinto spindle/granada hub setup,(stock), as opposed to a metric (jetmod) setup. I just want to know the facts so I don't put my foot in my mouth, (which by the way I do have a habit of doing), at our rules meeting.
