i really hate what direction that imca is taking us.
i run at a non sanctioned track here in wis. but we follow imca rules.
as far as the panhard bar goes i will run the 19" straight bar at the pinion and i will either run the new mount thaT ALLOWS ME TO MOUNT UNDER THE PINIONS CENTERLINE OR I WILL EXTEND MY SQUARE TUBE BRACKET TO WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE TO RUN A STRAIGHT BAR (MIGHT END UP IN BETWEEN MY 4 LINK)
I KNOW MY REAR ROLL CENTER AND INSTANT CENTER WILL CHANGE BUT I THINKS ITS BEST FOR THE HANDLING ON MY DW8.
ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY IDEAS , THOUGHTS OR OPINIONS????

Run the DW J'Bar, Please! That will get your 19 inches, and the J is just there for clearance nothing more...

Our j bar wont make 19". which means we have to figure out something else to do. If they are doing this because they think it will calm the cars down then they need to put a rule on angle not on length. Its the angle that kills you. You can make a jbar undriveable just like a short bar.

This is one of the stupidest rules i have seen in a long time... oh wait i forgot about the no stud girdle rule.

IF YOUR WORKIN ON A DW-8 PAUL,YOU BETTER CALL ANDY AT DIRT WORKS AND FIND OUT WHERE YOUR MOUNTS SHOULD BE. OUR 98 DW-8 J-BAR IS MORE THAN 20 INCHES LONG, BUT WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE MOUNTS A COUPLE OF TIMES.

Rocket chassis makes a longer square tube panhard bar bracket but i'am not sure on how much longer..... might just be the ticket if you only need a few inches. Paul.. That non sanctioned track near B.D has rules???????? I think the only rule is you weight #2450 I know of few of cars that were not imca legal (ie.6th coils, pullbar and liftbar, alum roofs and fab rear ends ect..) But oh well, Ran there the last 2 years weekly and had the rearend plug out once. C-ya Andy
