What does shielding the battery mean? Are they talking about battery boxes? What are we shielding it from?

I'am pretty sure they just want the battery inbetween the frame rails and not out under the quarter panels.

Is that just what your thinking, Or did you read that somewhere. Just asking, I dont have rules to read. Why would you want your battery out side the fraim rail.

Some of the older cars were built that way. But andykmod is correct Brett Root posted I think on whowon that was what the rule intended was to have the battery inside the frame rails.

Many late models the battery is above the lr tire outsidethe frame rail. Many other places have made this similar rule. I have my battery besie my seat just under the decking.
