I was wondering if anyone out there has run an SB2 Chevy in a mod and if so what happened? I've seen these engines sold at auctions to mod racers but have never seen one in a car.

Yes some of the guys have run them the last couple of year at USMTS shows. But, it seems the trend now is going back to the normal stuff, 377, 385's etc. The sb2's make lots of horse, if you can hook it up. Maybe there is a reliability issue, with all the lightweight parts???

yes, several guys around here in eastern iowa have tryed them.....pm me and i will give you names. but just like sdracer12 said, it must not have worked that good or reliabilty issues developed, because i seen some engine failures, and they have went back to the old standbys. Just my observation.

Ive heard they're hard to cam and gear, too much exotic stuff needed. I was just curious thanks for the replies. Hey Ford5 who will be Tiptons new promoter? Have you heard anything?

I haven't heard that but I have heard that Tom Pestka met with the fairboard.
