Need a starting point for gear selection at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa Florida. Will have a pretty healthy rolling 406 that wed like to spin anywhere from 7600-8000 rpm.

Why do you want to turn that many r's with those cubes? Just curious.

I dunno, motor builder said 7500 all day long so you can always add 300-500 rpm above what they say..lol What do you think we should turn it? It still pulls hard at 8,000

Hey I finally talked to my buddy who raced at Easybay last year. He ran a 5:67 gear with a very strong roller 385. Turned around 8000 rpm.

What are the dates for the Florida speedweeks races at East Bay this year? We might be going too!

Hope this helps.

Harris are you comming for the Nationals? We run two late models weekly at East Bay. With the 4bbl alky motors our 362 car with a 618 I believe runs at 7800-8000, our 311 car with 572 runs 7400-7600. I sounds backwards as to motor to gear but it is what the cars like.

Forgot! Some friends that are running in Mods are using 600-650's with the rule limited two barrel motors. I know one guy who is going to a 683. I just got the parts and am going to put it together tomorrow for him to run this weekend.
