I have seen cars with polished sheet metal on the sail panels and such, I was wondering if any of you guys know where to get it and how much it is a sheet. I haven't called the guy I get my metal from yet I figured I'd ask ya'll first. Thanks for any replys.

the main problem with the polished is it tears very easy. i have used non painted before, its not as bright, but still looks good. and alot stronger. most polished is only .030 thick not .040. anyways polished tears easy and cost about 2 times as reg.

I'm guessing that you're talking about the chrome looking sheet metal. I use it on the nose piece and hood. I doubled my nose piece to help keep it from getting too tore up. When it gets scuffed up by the dirt it doesn't clean up well, but it still looks good 'n' shiney.

mod 70 has the unpainted, i seen his body getting built. and mine is made out of the same stuff.
polishing it can be done, just go to a truck stop and get some soft buffing wheels. we did it on 1 inch angle aluminum to make som trim for a boat one time.

i would have to look, we got ours in a brick at a truck stop, go to a large one, and they will have a whole section of buffing stuff. and should say on it some. you also want the softest wheel i cna not remember the name of it.
