406 engine, 1/4"-3/8" mile. Has anyone run
the 206CC raised port Bowties?
I've been thinking about the Darts, but I'm more than a bit curious about the raised port heads. Any recommendations?
Also, without giving away your secrets,
What kind of power is everyone making with an iron head?

I dont know about the bowtie heads. Pro makes a raised runner 23degree head that may be the best of both if you want to look into them. I think it takes a shaft rocker and different intake though but i'm not sure.

600+HP isnt out of the question with flat tappets and 650 or better with rollers especially on alky. I even know of a few guys that have close to 700 or better w/ steel heads and flat tappet cams, but thats with 14 degree heads, which get way too pricey for us. I think in mods its real easy to overpower yourself and go backwards. Just because you can build 600hp doesnt mean you can use it. For us there have only been 1 or 2 nights this year where we could have used it if we had it.

We can't run roller anything above 362 cubes-not even rockers. I was thinking that 600hp would be possible with a little head work.
Anyone know what it takes to run an 18 degree head? does it require machining/sleeving of the lifter bores? (A strict no-no for our class) Or do you just have poorer geometry?
Does Pro have website?

well you will need roller rockers for 18 deg, and the pro 14 takes a shaft assempbly. most 18 deg have shaft assembly also. best bet would be 355-331 or destroke a 400 iwth a 327 crank. and put in 23 deg heads, and full roller. prot and polish.
also he pro 23 deg heads are great, get those port them, and get custom pistons made for the 400 block, and 3.25 stroke.
that would be a killer motor.

MY LAST 406 HAD THE WRONG ROLLER CAM IN IT AND A SET OF PRO HEADS, ROLLER ROCKERS AND A DAVINCI ALKY DOMINATOR, AND IT MADE OVER 615 PONIES @ 5700 RPM, AND 635 FT LBS OF TORQUE FROM 3800 TO 6000. WENT BACK TO A FLAT TAPPET AND THE BOTTOM IS BETTER, BUT NOT QUITE AS GOOD ON TOP.STILL MORE THAN I CAN HOOK UP!!!!
MY ENGINE BUILDER PUT TOGETHER A 434 DART BLOCK WITH 18* HEADS THAT HAD STOCK PORTS AND IT MADE OVER 800 HP AND ALMOST 900 LBS OF TORQUE! ON A BAD 750 WILLY'S CARB. HE BORROWED MY DOMINATOR AND DIDNT HAVE ENOUHG BALAST TO HOLD IT DOWN! BURNT THE TIRES OFF TRYIN TO QUALIFY IT!
