Good Question,I have been running a D&M progressive but I have no idea what spring rate I have because I bought it used and I have no way of checking the rate.....I do know that I bottom it out and am getting too much travel....like 4 inches or so...I race on hooked up tracks out west compared to to the midwest tracks ....I have been fighting trying to calm the car down all season ,with bar angles spring rates etc.but I think the extra movement on the pull bar is throwing the left rear up on the bars so much with the spring in front that no matter what I do untill I get the pull bar right I will be chasing my tail.....car is good top 5 consistantly but I am still missing something......any pull bar spring rate sugestions would be appreciated

Hey JT54, I think you're suppose to have about 3" of travel (from what I've read) at the pull bar connection above the rearend. I would think 4" it to much. When compared to the moment arm of 4" at the top vs. where your trailing arms connect, I can see why you're up on the bars so much. Another thing to question is what are you doing to your u-joint at the pinion? Is it surviving with that much roll? I have a DW8 with a spring pullbar, but I can't tell you the spring pressure. It was on the car when I got it. But, I'm only getting about 3 1/8" of travel.

WERE GETTING ABOUT 3 INCHES OF TRAVEL, BUT I THINK WE NEED A STIFFER SPRING BECAUSE ITS LACKING BITE COMMING OFF THE CORNER.

I have gone through one u-joint all season .and I check them each week as part of my maintanance ,I can feel when the bar bottoms out because it gets instant bite and then looses it almost as instantly ,but this is well off the corner.....unfortunately like many racers I have been verry low budget this year and have had to live with things that I normaly would have changed if funds allowed....on the bright side the car is fast now and I know that it will only get faster when the correct parts are in place .....I have also become real good at pedaling the throttle to keep the car hooked up ....I used to be real choppy with the throttle (it was either on or off)......I would like to say thanks to jammin for having this board and also a big thanks to all that try to help.

we runa 600-1200 progressive and get about 2" of travel and we also run a 800 and get about 2" of travel. it seems to work and hook up good. i may go a bit softer say 700 just to get a bit more travel, thats on a dw 8 also,
