Is it possible to get so much upper bar angle on a 4 link that you lose bite. LAst night we tried raising our upper bar 1 hole and the driver said he couldnt get ahold of anything in the middle of the corner. I thought raising the upper bar would help get more drive in the LR unless it put in more rear steer and made the car too loose for him and it felt like he couldnt get ahold of anything.

once you get the car pretty close... try to remember the more angle in either bar means more rear steer, lately we have found hte bottom bar does more for bite than the top.. we move the lower left up a hole and upper one the same when the car is close

yeah we had raised the bottom bar earlier in the year to get a quick bite in the middle but lately the car was lacking some traction down the straight so we thought maybe raising the upper would give it more drive when it was slick.

...but i just did some calcs and figured out that the additional angle in the top bar gave us almost 5/16" more rear steer on the left side. So that leads me to think maybe the car was just too loose. Maybe we should have taken some angle out of the bottom bar to cure the rear steer (or flatten out our z link bars on RR). Then possibly add some LR bite to get it too hook up initially in the middle.

dont take angle out of the bottom bar.. really once that bar is set it shouldn't have to be moved, unless your going from a half mile to a tight quarter... or a track with triangular corners

We have 6 degrees in the z link bars and with 3" compression that gives us 5/16 trail on the RR. Thinking that if we had leveled these out then after we raised the top bar we would have had the same rear steer as we did before. Instead of adding a whole bunch on top of that. Then if its tacky lower the top bar back down and put some angle back in the z bars to get the car to turn in the middle.

So what do you think is good for angle in the bars. WE have 11 in the bottom and 22 in the top, When we raised it that gave us 26. all without driver in the car.
