Had a little mishap last week, track was so rough it broke my radiator mount and cost me a top five and a radiator. I borrowed one from my brother to get thru the night, and he suggested I add Justic Bros. radiator cool to the coolant. I normally run around 210-220 during a race, it barely ran 200 after adding this.

I know running cooler is better, but are there downsides to additives?

The only thing that I can think of is corrosive chemicals, but most of the additives are not supposed to do that. Cooler is better. Typically I run from 160 to 180.

(Oh yeah, alky.)

I have run water wetter in our kart engine, I tear them down after every weekend. I have seen no problems in the cooling system from using it. Have been using it for 2 years now and in 3 karts.

Methanol is naturally cold, and it looses its flamability when mixed with water.

we use royal purple, purple ice and i dont know whether it really makes a difference or not but it will help lube and protect your cooling system.

Its true DMAN if you check out the label on windshield washer fluid (the blue stuff) you will find that it is blue colored water & methanol. Check it out. If you check out how to extinguish a methanol fire, you will find out that it is the only flammable liquid that is extinguished with water.
If I am lyin I'm dyin, (I'm dyin anyway)
But check it out, I saw an oldtimer use this trick. seemed to work well.
