We are running it. This is our first year in the Mod class and first year with leafs. So far we love it. Low maintence and once you figure it out you can run with any bar car. I would say the tuffest thing is finding someone to talk to about leafs because very few people run them. Atleast around us. Check out the fastboys setup on 4m.net. They claim they are three-wheeling a leaf car! If you want an easy setup and consistency there is none better. Long live the Amish Buggy!

10-4 on the Tom Gibson. He's building all the components as well as a chassis and knows his stuff. It will carry the lf all the way down the straight. We're going to get a new chassis from him this winter.

Is there anyway to keep the car flat, or does it only work on 3 wheels? Just curious. Seems that bar cars pretty much rule the modifed world.

what leafs are you guys having luck with.

I have a nova imca stock car and I know my leafs are dead when i lift the lf a foot or so..

I just ran a set of landrums, and think they lasted 5 nights.

going to try afcos right now.

anyone float the rr leaf, Ive heard of this what effect does it have?

my car hasnt worked on dry slick yet. allways super loose. Ive only got 9 shows on it.

thanks

We run landrums and have had no problems loosing arch. We probably have 12-15 races on them. Make sure if the car is sitting that the weight is off the springs. This is important and I think saved us. I have even seen a guy jack up the rear on the trailer and then tie it down for towing.

Bar cars are the majority but they don't rule. One guy is running top 5 at our home track, with leafs.

But 4m.net tells it all. That 21 guy and a couple others seem to know what they are talking about.

Ive got 2 sets of springs sitting here that have lost absolutely no arch. BUT they have lost 10-22 percent of their rate. I built a rater and rate them before I use them.

johnG,if you are changing springs as often as you say & you can't get the car to get bite on a dry track your doing something wrong or do not have enough arch in the left rear. cd2

JohnG - What kind of percentages are you running? Do you take tire temps after the main? What are they? These things can help everybody figure out what you have going on.

we tried multi rr and half leaf mono rr once, oh man!!! car was bad fast!!!!! the one thing i didnt take into considerration was I didnt stack the half leaf, we almost had the leaf snap in half. the car had extreme side and forward bite!!
we are currently running multi left and mono right, car is consistently top ten. we float the rr every so often only when needed, what it does it folds up the rr leaf and allows rearened to walk forward, make sure your u-bolts are tight!!- I cant tell you everything but we run around 90 pounds left rear when floated, and yes it may three wheel but it is fast..

we ran just the leaf spring as the centering device. ran a 90-10 dampener over rearend.
