Looking into buying some new shocks for next year and i have been looking into several brands. Question is which style shock do you all preferr?

Penseke's 7100 series are a emulsion type oil, with a nitrogen top pressure, and are a mono tube design. QA1's are a twin tube, with the gas in a bag and base valve on the top to keep them from mixing. I'm leaning to the QA1's right now just due to the exspense, but thinking the Peneske's maybe the all around better shock.

Anyway, anyone out there have any expierence runing a mono tube vs a twin tube or non gas shock to gas / emulsion type shock? If you have could you tell us what you felt was good or bad about both please?

Trying to make the best informed decison i can, and what better way is there than getting feedback from the drivers.

go with a good mono tube shock. Don't recoment the Pneske 7100 Because they are emulsion. Nitrogen will get into the valving and give you trouble. What is you price range and for what type of car. I run shocks by Shadow Racing Products out of NJ. We have had the best luke with his shocks they start around $205 ea. Next down I would recomend the Bilstiens, they are a good all around shock.

I would have to recomend the Bilsteins also. I ran twin tube, and then changed to the mono's this year. Car just feels better in the seat of the pants. Also much better thru the rough stuff with a very soft car. Only problem is breakage on the front gets costly quick when you whack the shock in a racin deal...

Bilstien making a rebuildable shock yet? I would like to stay with something i can rebuild and revalve myself. No use in buying multiple shocks when i can just rebuild an xtra myself.

Good mono tube's are hard to find, and as someone said the Peneske's are rebuildable and mono tube but there emulsion type shocks. Dont really want to go that route either.

You got any contact onfo on the Shadow Racing products?

WWW.SHADOWRACING.COM (973) 684-7270 Just ask for Shadow Let him know Wilson sent you. Bilstien does have a rebuildable shock. Shadow is a revalver for Bilstien and many other mono tube shockes other than his own. He also has a new BIGBALLS bigbody (2") comming out soon, Be shure to ask him about it. He can give you what you need.
