i'm on the verge of switching from 4 link to swing arm on left clamped and swing arm/zlink on the right..any spring suggestions for dry slick would greatly be appreciated, it's a dw8...we run a very competitive track and i think i'm the only four link running towards front but i'm always getting beat by some swing arm variation, we average about 35 cars and i'd say only about 3 or 4 four link cars are running...i always thought the four link was better for dry slick our "best" setup just ain't gettin it done...thanks..

Just curious, where on the track is the problem with the 4 link?

from the apex of the corner off...just won't take the throttle..seems to be better after i changed the gear(i posted this a while back).....we usually get about 35 cars a night and i would say only about 3 or 4 are four bars...everybody else seems to going to swing arm/swing arm z link combos and/or swing arm z link on both sides and winning with it...i won the first race of the season and none since so we are just lookin for an advantage, thanks...

so your saying you don't have enough motor as in it won't take the throttle or it spins the tires?
if it bogs the motor start taking rear percent out by removing lead, or drop both bars on the left side a hole each, if it spins the tires do the opposite

it's spinning and i consider myself to be smooth on the throttle..

where is your spring, put it on the lr behind and the car will not spin the tires as much(if you run clamped up like many dw cars then if you get on the gas too quick it can snap the tires loose, if they never grab then the car will not hook up.)
more lr upper bar angle. will help.
are you spinning or are you just outbiting with rr, i mean the car wants to take off and spin out hard. if the car wants to take off and spin the car out, take angle out of the rr of the car.
a four link will beat the others on dryslick, i prefer four link lr and swing arm rr though but that is a very loose set up,
what are you exact bar angles, not hole that the bar is in, what is the deg measure, and what is the spring rates, and what are the spring locations, also springs on the front, what shocks are on it. stuff like that.

not sure on the degrees...
left upper fourth hole up
left lower top
right upper third hole up
right lower middle
lr spring behind, rr in front
700 750 74 76-2
250 175 93 94
58 rear
53 left
51.5 cross 120#
377engine crank about 7300-7500 on 3/8 mile
this setup was pretty good first of season, seems like all the swing arm guys are now faster than the four bars..whether it be swing arm or swing arm zlink

put a 200 pound spring in the right rear and go up to 62 percent rear and try that...
