From what I understand, they're eaiser to setup and can work really well on a heavy track.

Go to www.4m.net and check out the mod tech section. There is a post on there that goes in-depth about leaf mods. Look for about any post that scooter40 has replied to. He seems to be the man to talk with.

leafs can work, easy to set up, very forgiving for a driver, and good on wet and rough tracks.
cons-wear out quickly, costly, not as much adjustablity. not great on dryslick.
i would always choose a bar car in a mod, but a leaf can be made to work, just dont expect to beat a 4/z on dryslick.

I've switched to a multi/mono leaf car recently and am beating 4/z links on dryslick. I am happy with it, but the mono leaf does wear out rather quickly. There is very little to adjust which can be a blessing but also a problem when adjustments do need to occur.

The leaf car is easy to setup and can run well.
The one thing that is always something you have to check is BIND.
Since the leafs are so long a couple of good bums in the back from other cars can cause your car to bind.
Chasing a bind in a leaf car can be chore.
Other than that they are good for a first mod and Pro builds a good leaf car.
