I've noticed that alot of cars in the pits will jack up the rear of the car at the bumper until the rear tires are off the ground, not to work on it, but it just sits there like that till they are ready to go out and run again. What is the reason for doing this?

most of them are leaf cars...
we always get the rear end up in the air and check things over real quick and make changes..

Saves the Leaf Springs-I even take the weight off the springs while trailering the car. My car never sits on the ground during the week-always on jack stands with the weight off.

They wanted us to run the track in on Saturday so we jacked the backend up to make it look like we were working on it...

When they pay for my fuel, I'll pack the track.

Saves the springs on leaf cars. We let our coil car hang in the shop all week, just to keep weight off of it.
