I could be wrong but it seems to me like the 90/10 shock on the rear is hyperextending. The rear end wraps up to a point and then looks like it hit the end of the stroke and slam there goes your forward bite.

That's what I was looking at. It definetly looks like a pullbar problem. It travels way to easy then it bottoms out and binds.

These video shots are the ultimate!!!

What kind of pullbar is in the car, and what rate of spring?

I had a similar problem last year. Car had too much angle in a very short pullbar. It would get going very quickly, but run out of bite and get loose right when I was really in the throttle on exit.

I agree with the above posts about too much travel and hitting the max. extension on the 90/10 shock. If you look at the previous video of the left rear of the other car, it is easy to see the damping and travel is much calmer.

Thanks for these videos!!!!

I gotta agree, it looks like the 90/10 is reaching it's limit too soon.

We run two 90/10 shocks on all of our 4 bar cars and they seem to help with the eratic back and forth movement of the pull bar. Just a thought.

Thanks for the link. Those things are a great tuning tool.

I am sure our DW car will hyperextend the 90-10 as well but havent yet figured out a good way to fix it. Anybody have any good ideas? I have thought about lowering it equally on both ends to try and decrease the amount of throw the rear end gives it but not sure it would be enough.

IF that is a double biscuit pull bar moving that much, you are screwed. Throw that a away and get a spring bar or a solid one. Did you take that bar off a 2 link car? Remember, you have a floated rear end on a 4 bar, where the 2 link winds up on the springs some. Adding about a 1000 rpm to motor won't hurt either.

Try this link:
http://www.catchitcam.com/

The one on the front page has a "s" after "cam" that shouldn't be there.

Awsome shots, yours and the links. I ran my mod with a helmet cam last week, I have learned to keep the camera mounted on the car, this way the bumps are minimized. I had mine on my helmet and I now have a greater apperciation for what a driver goes thru during a race. I have been going thru it for many years but just never realized it was that bad!!!
