Just wondering where everyone is putting their box (those that run them)? I am putting my car together (first one) and trying to figure out the ideal location.

Thanks,

I have mine in front of the drivers box toward the top. Makes it easy to get to.

Same here. in front of the driver, behind the guage cluster. out of the way, easy to get too, and protected from dirt, water, rocks, etc..

I agree. I have mine mounted in front of the driver where it is protected and easy to get to if I need to check it.

It's up higher than the picture really shows. I'd crack my knee on the bar first before I hit the box.

Thanks for the info and the photo, I had a guy telling me i should mount if on the front of the cockpit, that didnt make any sense to me since it would be gettin hit with mud and rocks from the left front.

Thanks again,

Dirtbandit

Just thought I would add if running a UMP event and your MSD box is with in reach as you are in the seat I was made to have a cover over mine so as not to do any funny buisness.

Gee , I thought my asocation was the only one that had to have a box over the MSD. Mine was behind the driver's seat on the driveshaft tunnel. there was no way that the driver could reach it but they made me put a cover on it anyway.

I believe it's an IMCA rule. We're not at an IMCA scanctioned track, but we have to cover them also. (if they're within reach of the driver) Mine's just not covered in the photo.

hey mod 70 that aluminum looks really good if you brush it in a circular patern. thats what i did to mine before i painted it.
also the guy i share a shop with sells nitrus if your want some, i am sure he can find a place to mount it.

and my msd box.....out of my reach, under the work bench. i run dui.
but if i was running msd i would put it above the gas pedal.
good luck
jason

I have mine like on the center console like behind the shifter, but it's torward the back. I suppose officals wouldn't like it, or make me cover it up, but is this a good spot? I put it there because I'm running the 6t box with a seperate box for the rev control.
