thinking of switching from 1050 to 900 pull bar spring for better bite on a slick track....any input on whether it's worth the change and if so do i keep the pre load the same as the 1050, i run about an eighth preload now...thanks..btw, it's a four bar dw8..

It should help on a slick track. Just watch the rear end video on this site to see how much it moves. If you're already at 1/8" pre I wouldn't take any more out of it. A spring change is about your only option. Softer for slick, heavier for tacky. 1/4" pre is the standard place to start, then adjust it from there.

More or less preload for what conditions? Does more preload make it dig harder the instant power is applied? If so how much is too much preload?

More preload tightens up the spring, alowing it less travel. On a dry/slick you want the rear end to have more travel in it to keep from shocking the tires and breaking traction. The heavier the track is the more traction it can hold, so you can use less rear movement and apply the power quicker.

With a 1050 spring how much travel should you be seeing?
