Have any of you run into this, It came with a spacer that goes between the body and nose to adjust so the gear dont hit the ring when its not engaged. I had to put this in and its still hitting . I have never had to do this. But have had to shim the depth.
I dont think the flywheel is on differnant, but maybe it is. I have the raised area where a convertor would bolt up facing the trans.

had the same problem, i found another flywheel and it worked fine..
i believe the flywheels are a bit differant on where the ring gear is on them.

Yes. Long gear on the starter won't let starter drive kick out? I've seen this and the ring around flexplate was the problem.
