What would be a good waterpump lubricant to use? We run straight water & went to our local O'Reillys to buy something to add to our system to lubricate our waterpump, & they said they didn't carry anything like that. Thanks.

Iíve been using Cyclo Ďanti rust and water pump lubeí. One bottle with straight water stays clean and clear.

2nd2none, would Downy stop static mud cling? LOL.
Ratracer10, Who sells the Cyclo stuff & how much does it cost? We pull our radiator out about every 2 weeks & soak it in a wadeing pool to clean out the fins. Don't want to be spending too much money on something that's gonna end up running down the driveway. The Napa 13 sounds good also.

With sealed bearings just how do you lube a water pump...LOL. Any good stopleak useally has some qualities to insure anti rusting. Try some soluble oil (cutting oil).

One just can't lube a Chev water pump with a water additive.

Heck Peddler, I never thought about the waterpump having a sealed bearing. Now I feel kinda like a *****$$ for asking in the first place.LOL! I guess what I was looking for was something to kinda lube the whole system. When ever we flush the system, we get alot of rusty looking water out of it. Thanks for giving the first tug to remove my head from my posterior for me.

The lube is so the water flows smoother through the cooling system with less friction thus creating less heat . LMAO !

Actually I think the lube is more for the shaft seals rather than the sealed bearings in the pump .
