I wasn't there, but if you are refering to the first lap launch on the back strech, I'm good friends with the guy that bumped him. He said he felt horrible about it, but I guess the track was in terrible shape that night and he caught a rut out of 2 that sent him up the track. He was totaly off the gas trying to gather it up, but couldn't grab it in time. I heard that only 8 cars out of 24 actualy were able to finish the race because of conditions. Even he broke his frame on a rut in 3-4. Hope your guy is O.K. Guess it was a pretty nasty wipe out.

ricky had no hard feelings, all he said is everybody needs to calm down on starts.
and blames it on the track conditions and kinda a freak racing thing.
the car will hopefully be back togethere by this weekend and will be back at it, not sure if he is coming back to cms this week.

when the track is like that everybody needs to calm down for a few laps till it shakes out and gets single file. you can not win on the first lap anyway.(almost everybody pushing way too hard for the start)
pretty bad crash, but thank God they moved the pit stands back and put in like a 30 foot wide fenced areato keep kids away from the fence. or it would have been alot worse.
the track talked to ricky afterward and said they are trying to think of a safer way to make the track. and putting in new catch fence cables.
