Here I am again.... I am running Howe dual cylinders and I dont have much brake. I have rebuilt the cylinders and it has helped but still dont have enough rear, it will not lock up the tires, even on gravel. I have a 7/8 going to the front and a 1" going to the rear. This is the way I was told, is this correct, or should the 7/8 be to the rear? Any thoughts are appreciated. Running solid mounts RR low LR high. Stock calipers.

The 7/8 will give you more pressure than the 1" will. If you need more rear than you could try switching them around. Hope this helps.

What kind of brake line are you running to the calipers? If you are running the stock rubber hose, & it is old, this could be your problem. They will rot from the inside out & either hold pressure on the caliper, or not let the fluid get to the caliper. We had this problem several years ago on our front brakes. Changed to the braided lines & the problem was solved. Good luck.

another thing to check is make sure the mount is staight and the pads are touching the whole rotor...also check your rear hubs for play!! What if you pump them a bit first hold just a tad pressure on the pedal and jab them? I have run into this type of problem and found that the hub was loose and would kick the pad back so when you first hit the pedal it would only take up the slack and not put enough pressure to lock em....so i had to keep a bit of pressure on the pedal so when i stabbed em they were there!!!

Thank you, I will look into the hubs and brackets, I have an older rearend and the rotors are supposed to be solid mounted under the end plate, but...when we did the rearend, to get the proper rear end alignemnt the left rear is not solid mounted, it is outside the end cap and between the wheel and the hub, perhaps this is part of the problem. I do run braided lines. Also, I think I will try switching to the 7/8 in the rear.
