I just changed the rear clip on a chassis and switched from leaf to four link. The layout of the rear chassis would be nicer for moving balast around and getting the cell near the rear axle if I ran a torque arm instead of a pull bar. I would love some opinions on the torque arm and why it seems every one has gone to pull bars instead. The mod has a BIG engine and is a slightly heavy with good rear and left weights. I can run either one but would appreciate input about both.

with a 4 bar, you will notice slightly less bite when you first get on the gas. but will keep the bite longer.
the longer the torque arm the easier it will be to drive with a big motor. i know one guy that is very fast with a 4 link z link car with a torque arm.
but overall the torque arm has less inital bite but more down the straight and holds it longer. and the torque arm is smoother to drive.
i would go with a torque arm if you can get past the slightly less inital bite.

Thanx for the info! The track I run is a flat 1/2 mile with pretty decent straightaways, does anyone have an idea on a good 5th coil spring rate for the torque arm to use as a staring point? I have plenty of experience with pull bars but zip on torque arms!
