i have a question? what happened saturday night at winston mo. i heard from some street stock drivers that in the Bmod Amain there was some controversy. I was told that something like number 13 lead most the race then on the last lap corey wray bumped him out of the way(prob just mis judged and slid up), wray took the lead but in the next corner the number 13 hit corey and spun him out. then a number 28 crossed the line first and got the checkered flag. but after that they took the win from the number 28 and gave it to wray. this is just what i heard happened from a street stock guy, he said that they did not have a caution and restart, just gave corey the win. if they really did that that is pretty low, i mean it may be a bad deal that somebody took him out but that is racing, at the most the track should have thrown a caution and went to the previous lap line up then had a green white checkered. but i heard they just took the win from the 28 car and gave it to corey. that is pretty unsportsmanlike of the track. it is not the 28's fault that corey spun so why penilize him. the 28 car should have won or they should have had a caution and a few lap shootout to give wray and the 28 a fair chance. if somebody gets taken out by a lap car with one to go but does not finish the race he does not get the position he was in when he was hit. it is just racing and the 28 car should have won it. I looked on the website and seen a pic of corey with a throphy and a smashed up car behind him. i just want to know what happened because that is pretty low of the track to do that.

YES,I WAS THERE AND THAT WAS CRAP!!!HE LOOKED LIKE HE WAS TRING TO SPIN HIM THOUGH.THAT IS THE ONLY REASON I CAN THINK THEY DID THAT.THEY WERE COMING OUT OF 4 TO TAKE THE CHECKERED FLAG WHEN HE DROVE RIGHT INTO THE SIDE OF HIM.THE TRACK WAS SO DRY SLICK FROM ALL THE USMTS MODS THAT YOU COULD HARDLY SEE.I SEE BOTH SIDES,BUT YOUR RIGHT YOU SPIN YOU SPIN.THE 28 SHOULD OF GOT THE WIN.ITS NOT LIKE HE WAS WAY BEHIND.I WAS ****ED TO SEE WINSTON DO THAT,BUT THAT IS JUST THE WAY THEY DO THINGS.

Here is my opinion on the whole deal...Brett Dempsey (#13) had been leading the race with Cory Wray (#77) on his tail the whole time fighting to get around him. A lap or so before the white flag, Wray passed Dempsey and was checking out for the win. On the white lap, in turn 4, Dempsey bumped Wray in the rear and turned him around and Wray was hit on the right side by the 63 car of Jerod Jacobs. Denny Albertson (#28) got around the wreck and was the first to cross the finish line & the checkered flag. Then the black flag came out for Dempsey, and they announced that Cory Wray was the winner. Being a Cory Wray supporter, I was glad to hear this, but I do believe that was not the way to handle the situation. I think that Dempsey should have started from the back, Wray put back in his place at the front to run a green, white, checkered. It is obvious that Wray would have won the feature, had this incident not happened. However, in the rules, it says anyone that causes or is involved in a yellow flag, restarts from the back. So it is a very iffy call that nothing can be done about now. This was a USMTS show, in which USMTS was making all the calls, so it is not a WINSTON SPEEDWAY decision. Dempsey did come to Wray's trailer as soon as the race was over and made it perfectly clear that it was not an intentional bump, just a racing thing that happened. Everything was fine between them, and the very next day Dempsey held off Wray to nab his first Winston Speedway feature win. Kudos to both drivers!

i have heard that corey was pretty rough while trying to get around 13. he does have a tendency to throw it in a little rough sometimes. just alittle overanxious. but regardless i think it is pretty crapy of the track or whoever was in charge at the time to do that and corey should not have accepted the win if you ask me. he did not really win and deserve it. i like cms if you spin you go to the bakc no matter who's fault it is. they do that so it is the same everytime, i dont agree with cms all the time but at least they are consistant.

Well i just happened to see this and What has been said here is correct. The # 28 did in fact get the checkered flag and then Cory was given the win. We feel that Denny was shorted the win but it was not to be. Cory was given the win for some reason and thats the end of the story.

Just my 2 cents worth though --the rules usually have been at winston that if your are involved in a accident wether you cause it or you are the victum you will go to the back and restart. The race was not restarted but
Denny was not given the win.

In The matter of fact I believe #63 was given 2nd place and #28 was given 3rd.. go figure that one out.

Seems like to me maybe the last name has something to do with it. But then again this is just a opinion. But from what I have heard about a certain family that races at winston the track is going to do what ever it takes for them to win.
