HO’T the place to be for
Texas I.M.C.A. Nationals
WACO, Texas (May 13) – I.M.C.A. drivers from across the Lone Star State will converge on Heart O’ Texas Speed-way in Waco over the Memorial Day Weekend for the Texas I.M.C.A. Nationals.
The event runs from Friday, May 24 through Sunday, May 26 and will feature both the I.M.C.A. Sunoco Modified and Stock Car divisions.
Ten Texas race tracks are taking the weekend off from their regular programs and their promoters are working to-gether in organizing and staging the third annual event, one of the biggest this season in the Dirt Works South Central Region.
Modifieds will race for $2,000 in first place money. The Stock Car feature pays $1,500 to win.
Friday’s itinerary sees an open practice session from 4-10 p.m.
Gates open at 3 p.m. on Saturday, with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, gates open at 2 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and final qualifying events start at 6 p.m., with the feature races to follow.
Monday, May 27 is the rain date.
National, regional and state points will be awarded for both the Modifieds and the Stock Cars. No driver can compete in both divisions.
Working with Heart O’ Texas Speedway in promoting the Texas I.M.C.A. Nationals are 281 Speedway at Stephen-ville, Abilene Speedway, Boyd Raceway, Superbowl Speedway at Greenville, Grayson County Speedway at Bells, Ken-nedale Speedway Park, Texas Thunder Speedway at Killeen, Thunderbird Speedway at Crandall and Thunder Mountain Speedway at Rusk.
