Sounds a lot like the Texas Sunday series. If you add IMCA points and a small point fund which is covered by sponsors (Mccreary etc) you can pull 60 cars. They have pulled 80 and still only payed 600 to win and claim poverty.

1) 1500 drops 100 a spot until 9th
10)450 drops 50 until 13)
14)280 drops 20 until 17)
18) to 24 pays 200
this makes every spot except the last six worth something so there is an incentive to pass. If you pay same from 8th to 24 like some big shows it is a boring race.
With the extra money pay last chance races 50 to non-transfer spots

$50 dollar entry fee
$20 per night pit passes
First night locals night get in for $5 seniors$3 grandstands

Second night Children free with paid adult $10 Seniors $3
This will work and make money for most envolved. If racers feel they can at least only lose pit money they will race for the reduced purse. 200 to start a 50 entry fee race is a good deal. We do a break even analysis and see where we have to finish to at least cover fixed expenses. Say two pit passes for two people, two nights and 50 entry fee is 130. We will get 50 back so its 80. To start A should pay at least double this 160 so average guy at least thinks he has a shot at winning. Hay we will race for the 20 a spot, 50 harder, 100 lap after lap. I feel this is a good formula for a successful show. What do you think?

Each day is $2,000 to win $200 to start

rjs, it all sounds good to me. the reason the sunday series works so well is because it's on a sunday. i've been to one and was impressed with the car count considering the purse.

question is could this work on a saturday night?
