i have a 81 22r water pump taht is seized up so i got one from a buddy of mine, but it is off of an 86 pick-up.

the bolt patterns to the timing cover match up minus there is no whole for teh center bolt, the thing spin just fine and doesn't hit the timing cover.

now here is the question!

the pump pulley on my 81 does not fit on the 86 water pump? it just simply will not fit over the center peice and i dont think the wholes line up. is there an after market pulley replacement for these? i check lcengineering but they don't specify the year for the water pump and nothing is said anywere else about using the 85 and later pump on the 81 to 84 22r.

anyone recomendation would be great.

Thanks

Get an 81-84 pump? I bought the waterpump for my racecar at the junkyard for $5.

Why don't you want to get the right pump to start with? You'll spend more time looking for something you might not be able to find.

Would an 85-up stock pulley line the belt up? Is this what your asking?

Not an expert in this feild, but if both motor have the double timing chain or both do not it should work!
