I'm new to racing, the track here is 1/3 mile clay, Euro Metrics are real popular here, but are no longer available. We must run a "street" tire, no mudgrips, offroad, etc. Any suggetions??

Ones that I have found to work well for both asphalt and dirt alike are the Sumitomo HTR 200's. THis is what a lot of guys run at the tracks up in WI. Cheap tires too! Last a long time. You can get them on

Skip the Cooper Cobras, they just don't hold up well enough.
Try these tires,
1st choice for quality and cost,
Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 .
2nd choice for quality and cost, Dunlop FM-901
3rd choice for absolute performance ( on a dry slick track ) with cost in mind, Nitto NT-01

all can be purchased at Tire rack

Thanks to all, I put Cooper Cobras on and ran at a track in another town and went from being lap traffic to top five in the heat and main, this was only my fourth race ever, I think the tires helped, or I'm getting better. The car felt good, some clown hit me pretty good to get around me after I passed him, but the car didn't let go. It ****ed me off, good thing I'm 47 and not 27!! I see why some people get into it after a race, it's too **** much fun to be arguin' about it afterwards.

Thanks Again
