I'm not a Ford guy (only because I found a good buy on a '89 Cavalier hobbystock/hornet) but if you go back in the forum to April 19 & look for a post from loojack, the +20 HP chip is discussed a little bit. It doesn't look too promising but I don't think loojack ever let us know what results he got after installing it.
I agree with you that the theory sounds good but in reality if it only fools the ECU for a little while then it doesn't look like its worth messin with.
Maybe someone else will give us some more info.

For more probe info then you need to know...www.probetalk.com. Use the first gen forums as the 89-92s are first gen. I race an 89 Probe GT with a turbo. There is a guy with a GL up here too. Biggest thing is take out all the weight you can...strip off PS and AC...believe me you dont need em and in the event of a wreck its a lot less things to get into the radiator.
The +20 chips are bogus. All it is is a resistor. You could get it for 50 cents at a hardware store. From what Ive found out your computer eventually resets after a while and the thing is useless. Not a good buy. If you can run a header there I would suggest one of them. otherwise just open up the exhaust...STRAIGHT PIPE. Cone filter...and not the cheap ones...get something decent. These are just a start.
