rules say that we must use stock frame and body. all other rules are very unclear. they say its a starter class for ages 14-20. but you can do more to these cars than the hobby stocks thats why they dont make sence. so we want to make the thing fast but money is an object. so any help is grateful.
thanks

A good start would be have the head milled, get an adjustable cam gear and contact a cam manufacturer to get the proper cam.

it has been my experiance with "un~clear or fuzzy"rules they are "MADE" that way so they can be inturpitted differently depending the whim of the track,or way the officials want them to be.kinda like what is ok on someone elses car is, but the same thing on your car is not,or vice~versa.we have raced at tracks that operate like that, and it only takes 1 time to get DQ'ed to see the writing on the wall, and usually those places don't have very good car counts for very long.

mill the head and also put in bigger valves and open it up a little with bigger exhaust tubes they can restrict your engine a little. also look for a little lighter fly wheel it will cut back on rotating mass and rpms will come up a little faster for better acceleration

I run a mustang mini, with a 2300. Other than the obvious such as cam, and big valves the 2 biggest performance enhancers I found are 1) adjustable cam pulley, and 2) we run 500cfm Holleys with a fuel injection intake.

Careful with the big valves. It doesn't always help flow. Sometimes it hurts.

the best start ive found is mill the head .125 on a d-port ,get a med. cam blue racer has a nice one hyd with .479 lift for a mild engine (lots of torque and fast), stock or .030 bore .use a holley 500 with a restrictor kit (great thottle responce of the corners) use the stock intake fro the d-port alot of tracks are banning the efi's till you get better rule and regs good luck to ya

I run a holley 350cfm it seems to provide a little better responce off of the corner and better midrange. i also run stock valve size but they are upgraded to swirl polished stainless steel, shave the deck 10-20thousandths if possible. A cam is a must i run a Crower 495/515lift with a 292duration and a header is also a must.

Also, HP does you no good if you don't have handling. 1 thing that helps both handling and HP is a lightweight flywheel. kinda expensive but worth it.
