I haven't driven one, but I've seen one run in our 4 cylinder FWD division. He doesn't run at our track anymore. He moved to another track that has less competition and won the track championship there. If he was still running at our track, he would have probably finished 5th or 6th in points. The "hot setup" that a lot of guys are going with at our track is the Pontiac with the Quad 4 engine. It really runs, if you can keep it from blowing up. The web site where the Neon runs is: http://www.centralpaspeedway.com/
It is car #62 in the Pepsi Charger division.
If you snoop around the site, you may be able to find some pictures of his car and his name is there, too.

A buddy runs one. He talks it up but its not all that. He dont listen to anyone. Throws it in first coming out of the corner. slows him down but no one can tell him that. If he geared it right it would be better.

I wanna know how to get him more power. He wont listen but he needs it. I tried telling him take some off the head but of course no its fast enough. His wins this year 0 top 5s maybe 3 he ran about 7th all year. Needs to get faster whats some ideas/tips. what would you do. THanks.

Neons are ok because of the front wheel drive part. It dominates other mini-stocks(RWD) on a dryslick track. But if you want horsepower you need a Mitsubishi eclipse, and Eagle Talon(150hp), or Saab which is totally legal by all specs. of all tracks and 180hp. Look um up Feed your need for SPEED
