Does any one know what the lift is around for a stock 2300 cam. Our rules are max 400 and was just would like to know how close the stock cam is to that. Thanks.

i believe it is around 390 I think a toyota has around 420. Not 100% sure?

ive found that they average .245 lobe lift which calculates to just under .400 lift with an assumed rocker ratio of 1.6. be careful when checking cam catalogs etc, they often times list a cam with a higher "cam follower" rocker ratio to inflate lift figures. there arent a lot of performance type grinds listed as 400 or less but you will find several that are just slightly over 400 that actually will check less than 400. an example is the crane 194611 and the 194621. both show a lift of 415 and 420 but when used with stock followers will only show about 390 or 395 actual lift at the valve. if you have any questions - check out the cam card for the particular cam you want on the net and check for the lobe lift and do your own math.

Johnson machine makes a good 400 lift cam.242@.050 dur pulls to 7200.
