Does anybody run a 2.5/151. I have been doing some reading on putting a mercruiser 3.0 crank in the 2.5 and was wondering if anyone has ever done it and if there is anything special that needs to be done. Thanks in advance.

the 3.0 will work fine. you may have to grind a little here and there. the only problems weve seen with the stock crank is breakage at high rpm. keep it at around 6500 and all should be fine.any higher than that and i would invest in a billet unit. its somewhat costly but almost bullet proof. you could also go with a kansas racing products assembly but you might get sticker shock initially. really good stuff - really expensive. gm performance parts makes some good stuff for it also in there super duty 4 line. you can look some up at gmpartsdirect.com. heads/intakes/etc. keep in mind that at .060 over and the 3.75 stroke you will have +/-181 cu. in. and you wont have to run that many rpms. its a real torque monster so you'll want to gear the car accordingly.performance head, roller cam(not too much lift), and strong bottom end makes a real performer. the ford guys didnt know what hit them when i ran my monza with this setup last time. that is until the tech guy P&G 'd me and made me add weight. let me know if you need more info - also check with KSGERRY here on this sight.
