We are running a ford 2.3 without alternator. Large water pump pulley and small crank pulley. Having trouble keeping fan belt tight. Does anyone know of a idler pulley or similar setup that would work. Belt is tight at idle, but slips at high rpms and does not turn the water pump. BIGG C

I know this like a redneck but it works. Use a stock 2.3 cam tenssioner pulley and weld up a bracket to have it run the back side of the belt.

sorry, the pictures are so blurry my camera is messed up, but the exaust side is the old a/c bracket with hole drilled in it to run a bolt through for a tensioner off of an older model car. the power steering is an after marked pump and reservior, the pump is mounted on the chevy block mnt, witha piece of angle irom mounted to I believe the old power steering mounts

I don't use a tensioner. Got a short belt around the crank and water pump.
