On our car we have to run Cambridge Recaps 185, 195, 205 max 70 series 14's when we Durometer the tires they are too hard(68-76) Now what is the prefered range? And for these recaps will soaking them help all that much? Thanks in advance...

The very best dirt tires are, Hoosier dirt bozz 13". The med. tread hardness is ok. Slap on the soft tread, it is unreal. Down side is they cost $100.00 each. The soft tread might last 4 or 5 nites. But it cost money to go fast- how fast ya want to go!

The preferred durometer range for normal dry slick track is around 40 durometer. That should get you 12-15 laps. Some people like less and some people more.

the soft Hoos1er is the only one the parts truck brings to the track,he useta bring mediums but nobody would buy 'em so he quit stocking them.the tire rule is open at the track, any type or brand as long as it fits in a 10&1/2 inch "HOOP".
