Im in the process of moving my car up in class and the new class rules state a 4412 carb is mandatory. My brother gave me a used carb he bought off of e bay and I dont know what it was previously on. Its choke has been disabled and butterflys removed so I am assuming it was a racing application.

What needs to be done to the carb to run it on a slightly over stock 2.3 ford motor. I plan on puttin in a rebuild kit before putting it on the car and if modifications are necessary I would like to do them as I rebuild it. I purchased size 72 jets for it to start with but curious about what other modifications to make or look for.

Thanks in advance.

Youll need a restrictor kit in it for starters. I think that 72 might be a little lean. I don;t run one but my cousin does and he said that 75 is as low as he would go and as high as 83. Good luck Bobby

Thanks for the heads up on the jets and restrictor kit. I ran in the class tonight with the factory 2 bbl and managed a 7th place finish out of a 10 car field. I think the 4412 will put me up even more if I can get it right. Thanks again for the advice. I will purchase both 75 jets and the restrictor kit before running it.

We ran 74 jets on the outside and 73s on the inside on ours. You'll need a vent baffle too.
