I have a holley350(7448) carb that has been a nightmare.It starts to spit and pop at the entrance to 1&3 and then bogs like it has ran out of fuel through the center.I have the foat adjusted very high but that hasn't helped or hurt.I changed from a 45 to a 65 power-valve and have gone from 68 through 72 jets with no change at the higher rpm's.The 65 valve and the 68 jets work better at lower r's than anything else has.1500rpm=9inches vaccuum.Somebody help me,please. ford 2.3, .030, .508/.252 cam, stock bottom end,stock valves

try a 66-68 jet or so, the 6.5 power valve, and restrict the power valve feed holes behind the power valve to about .040"
Make sure you've got a vent baffle in the metering block, as well as try an anti-pullover squirter in about a .021" size, and lower your float level to the bottom of the sight plug hole.
Verify your fuel pressure is about 6-7lbs at idle, and that your timing is also correct and not retarding or advancing too far at those high rpms.

well i put a pwer block valve in mine and set the idle up and it helped alot and how do u have the carb turned?

pullover kills again. go with the baffle, power valve blockoff and 63 or 64 mains, and use the anti pullover style discharge nozzle.
use the pullover as the enrichment circuit at high rpm. you can also get one of the new metering blocks for about 100.00 bucks.

Thanks for the info guys,but now I have more ?sWhich is better,power valve or block off?And,KP,you lost me on restricting the holes behind the power valve to .040.Which holes are you talking about and how would you do that?And yes I do need to know where I can get the vent baffle and anti-pullover squiter.I have a 21 in there now but not anti-pullover.Would I be better off with a 500 holley?The one I borrowed Sat. sure ran smooth and it was not tricked out for racing.Thanks again

I would say just give that ole carb to kp and let him work his magic. It may cost but having a carb right is worth it.
